Progress, progress, progress! Our dream house is really coming along. We finally got dried in, so now the weather isn't an issue. Of course, it hasn't rained hardly any since we got dried in. I guess that's how it goes!
We are ready to start plumbing. We also have doors and windows that are getting ready to be installed. Now is when the decision making really starts to happen! We have spent a lot of time looking at flooring, paint colors, etc. Decision making is not easy for me, but it is exciting because decisions mean more progress.
I have to share a story. Mama told us that whenever someone mentions the house to her, she tells them that Zach and I are blessed. And she is so right. A few weeks ago we went to Lowes in Anderson to just look at flooring. We had no intention of buying anything. We had decided to do hardwood so we were looking at our options.
We happened to walk by a cart that had a sale tag on it. It was twelve unopened boxes of bamboo flooring, and one opened box. A sales associate came and told us that if we were interested in it, the manager would come talk to us about the price. It turns out that someone had special ordered this beautiful flooring, opened a box and tried to install a couple of pieces, but didn't have a clue what they were doing and messed it up. Lowes let them return it, but since it was special order Lowes was stuck with it. After talking with the manager we immediately knew that we couldn't pass up this deal. We ended up getting the flooring for 60% off!
But the story of how God was working isn't over. We were in my CRV and had no idea how we were going to fit this flooring in. We got it out to the car and with every box the car sank lower and lower. After getting it all in, Zach was not able to get the trunk anywhere near closing. So there we were, standing in the parking lot trying to figure out how in the word we are going to get this flooring home. We were trying to think of people to call but anyone with a truck was at least thirty minutes away. Zach told me to call his sister, Christal, and just see what she was doing. When she answered the phone and I asked where she was, she said "We're at Lowes in Anderson." Y'all. We had absolutely know idea that they were in Anderson. At first I thought that Zach knew they were there and was just messing with me, but he had no clue! Tell me God wasn't all over that blessing!
The burning question I get from everyone now is, "Do you know when you will get to move in??" We have hopes of moving in before school starts in August. However I want everything in the house to be completely finished before we move in, even if that means we have to wait longer. So we are just taking it day by day!
